Sabic P6006 is a high-performance thermoplastic material carefully developed by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), and is an outstanding member of the high density polyethylene (HDPE) family. It is in the form of black granules, and this color comes from the carbon black added during the production process. Carbon black not only plays a role in color adjustment, but more importantly, it gives the material excellent UV resistance, allowing the material to effectively resist UV erosion in outdoor environments, greatly delaying the aging process of the material and significantly extending the service life of the product.

HDPE P6006 resin is classified as MRS 10 – PE100 and has excellent long-term hydrostatic strength, which makes it an excellent choice for pressure pipe applications. Its molecular structure shows a unique bimodal distribution, which allows the material to achieve a good balance of properties, combining the excellent mechanical properties brought by the high molecular weight part with the excellent processing properties given by the low molecular weight part.

Typical Applications of HDPE Sabic P6006

Sabic P6006 can be used for pressure pipeline system (drinking water transportation, natural gas transportation,sewage pipeline)​, container manufacturing, medical care field,industrial pipes, etc.

Processing Performance

  • During extrusion, its moderate melt flow rate and good thermal stability support smooth plasticization and extrusion. Processors can use HDPE P6006 to produce high-quality pipes, sheets, and other extruded products.
  • For injection molding, the material fills the mold cavity efficiently and supports short molding cycles. This helps manufacturers improve production efficiency while maintaining good dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
  • HDPE Sabic P6006 also performs well in blow molding. It can be used to manufacture hollow containers in different shapes, including plastic bottles and other hollow products.
  • For processing, the recommended melt temperature is 190–220°C. To support stable processing and consistent product quality, dry the material before processing when required.
