Exceed™ 2018RB, also known as Exceed™ m 2018.RB, is a metallocene polyethylene (mPE) resin developed for blown film and flexible packaging applications. Based on an ethylene-1-hexene copolymer structure, it combines strength, toughness, puncture resistance, tear resistance, and processing flexibility in a single grade.

With a typical density of 0.918 g/cm³ and a melt index of 2.0 g/10 min at 190°C/2.16 kg, this resin provides a practical balance between melt processability and finished-film performance. Its additive package also includes slip and antiblock components, helping manufacturers achieve smoother film handling and more stable converting operations.

Key Product Properties

  • Good tensile strength. The film maintains strong mechanical performance in both machine and transverse directions.
  • High elongation. Its high elongation at break gives the film good flexibility and resistance to deformation.
Puncture resistance. The material helps films withstand localized loads and sharp contact during filling, transportation, and use.
  • Tear resistance. Balanced MD and TD tear properties support reliable bag and packaging performance.
Good impact strength. The resin provides good resistance to sudden impact and mechanical stress.
  • Good drawability. Its melt characteristics support film stretching and thickness reduction during blown-film production.
  • Balanced optical properties. The grade provides a typical haze of 14% and 45° gloss of 50, making it suitable for applications where film appearance also matters.
  • Built-in processing additives. Slip and antiblock additives improve film separation and handling without requiring the same level of formulation adjustment as an unmodified resin.

Why Should You Choose m 2018.RB

  1. Balanced Performance. The resin combines tensile strength, elongation, impact resistance, puncture resistance, and tear strength, making it suitable for demanding flexible film structures.
  2. Suitable for Blown Film. Its melt characteristics and drawability support blown-film production across a range of film constructions and thicknesses.
  3. Better Film Handling. The integrated slip and antiblock system helps improve film separation and handling during winding, storage, and downstream converting.
  4. Good Resistance to Mechanical Damage. The combination of puncture, tear, and impact performance helps packaging films withstand demanding handling conditions.
  5. Good Optical Properties. Its typical haze and gloss values provide a useful balance between clarity and surface appearance for various packaging applications.
  6. Flexible Formulation Options. The resin can be used on its own or combined with other polyethylene grades. This gives processors room to fine-tune film properties according to specific application requirements.
