Main Models of of Sinopec PVC Resin
For Sinopec PVC resin, the main models are PVC S-700, PVC S-1000, PVC S-1300. Of course, their performance and uses are also different.
- PVC S-700 resin has a relatively low degree of polymerization. It has good processing fluidity, can fill the mold smoothly during the production process, and has a high molding efficiency. This model is widely used and is suitable for electronic appliances, plate grade, and can also be used for various plastic products such as blown film, plastic film, plastic benches, tables and chairs, plastic buckets, injection molding buckets, and plastic basins.
- PVC S-1000 has a moderate degree of polymerization. This resin has good comprehensive performance, with both certain strength and good flexibility. It is often used to produce soft films. The soft films made are suitable for product packaging and agricultural covering. In the production of artificial leather, it can provide good texture and durability for artificial leather. In terms of sheets, PVC S-1000 resin can be used for some packaging sheets that require flexibility. In the field of pipes and profiles, it can be used to manufacture wire and cable protective tubes, which can effectively protect internal cables. It can also be used for soles and soft products. The soles produced have certain elasticity and wear resistance. It is also commonly used in the manufacture of packaging films, hoses and various profiles.
- PVC S-1300 has a high degree of polymerization, which makes this type of polyvinyl chloride resin have high strength and hardness. It is mainly used in the production of electrical insulation materials, such as wire and cable sheaths, which can provide reliable insulation protection and mechanical protection for cables, effectively preventing leakage and external damage; in the production of all-plastic sandals and slippers, PVC S-1300 can ensure that the slippers have sufficient strength and are not easy to deform, and the surface texture is good. It can also be used in products such as hoses and soft films. With the performance advantages brought by its high degree of polymerization, it meets the requirements of these products for material strength and stability in different application scenarios.
Performance Advantages
- Good corrosion resistance. Sinopec PVC can effectively resist the erosion of a variety of chemical substances. It is widely used in chemical industry, construction and other fields with strict requirements on corrosion resistance. For example, it can be used to manufacture chemical pipelines, which can operate stably for a long time and reduce the maintenance and replacement costs caused by corrosion.
- Excellent electrical insulation. The resin has excellent electrical insulation ability and can be used for insulation protection of wires and cables, providing reliable protection for power transmission safety, preventing leakage accidents, and ensuring the safety of electrical equipment and personnel.
- High chemical stability. It can remain stable in different chemical environments, and is not prone to chemical reactions that cause performance degradation, which ensures product quality and service life. It is suitable for outdoor building materials, containers for long-term storage of chemical substances and other application scenarios.
- High flame retardancy and self-extinguishing properties. Due to its high chlorine content, Sinopec PVC resin has excellent flame retardancy and self-extinguishing properties. When it encounters fire, it can effectively prevent the spread of flames, significantly improve the safety of use, and has high application value in places with high fire protection requirements such as buildings and public facilities.
- Easy to process and shape. Sinopec PVC can be processed into plastic products of various shapes and uses through various molding methods such as extrusion, injection molding, calendering, blow molding, pressing, casting and thermoforming to meet the diverse product needs of different industries.
Suspension Polymerization Process
Suspension polymerization is the mainstream process for Sinopec to produce PVC resin, accounting for about 80% of its total PVC resin production. This process uses water as the dispersion medium to evenly disperse liquid vinyl chloride monomer. In the reactor, pure water, liquefied VCM monomer and dispersant are added in sequence, followed by initiator and other additives. When the temperature rises to a specific range, VCM monomer undergoes free radical polymerization under the action of the initiator and gradually forms PVC particles. Continuous stirring makes the particle size uniform and suspended in water.
