PET WK-811 is a hot-fill grade polyethylene terephthalate resin developed by Zhejiang Wankai New Materials Co., Ltd. It is a TPA-based homopolymer PET specifically designed for hot-fill beverage bottles, such as juice, tea, and other drinks that require sterilization through high-temperature filling. The Wankai PET resin provides excellent heat resistance, clarity, and color stability, making it ideal for bottles that must maintain strength and transparency during hot-fill and cooling processes.

Main Characteristics of PET WK-811

  • Excellent Heat Resistance: Designed for hot-fill processes; maintains shape and strength under 70–90 °C filling and pasteurization.
  • Low Acetaldehyde (AA): Acetaldehyde ≤ 1 ppm ensures beverages retain original flavor without any odor.
  • Superior Clarity and Color: With L ≥ 83 and B ≤ -0.5, WK-811 produces bottles with brilliant transparency and clean appearance.
  • High Processing Stability: Low degradation rate and consistent intrinsic viscosity enable efficient molding with minimal material variation.
  • Food-Contact Safety: Designed to meet international standards for food and beverage packaging applications.

Typical Applications

Wankai PET WK-811 is mainly used for hot-fill and heat-resistant beverage containers, including:

  • Hot-fill bottles for tea, fruit juice, sports drinks, and functional beverages.
  • Bottles that require high dimensional stability and resistance to deformation during filling and storage.
  • Transparent, heat-resistant containers for food and beverage packaging.
  • Other clear, heat-stable packaging applications such as condiment or edible-oil bottles.

Processing Recommendations

To achieve optimal results, the following processing guidelines are recommended:

Pre-Drying

PET must be fully dried before processing to prevent hydrolysis or degradation.

  • Drying temperature: 160–180 °C
  • Drying time: 4–6 hours
  • Target moisture: ≤ 0.20 wt%

Processing Conditions

  • Due to the high melting point (~ 249 °C), use appropriate melt and mold temperatures to ensure proper crystallization and mechanical strength.

Blow Molding Considerations

  • For hot-fill bottles, maintain adequate crystallinity and wall uniformity to prevent shrinkage or deformation.

Color Control

  • Maintain raw-material purity and avoid contamination or excess additives to achieve desired color (L/B values).

Storage

  • Store in a dry, ventilated place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, use promptly to avoid moisture absorption.
