Sabic P6006 is a high-performance thermoplastic material carefully developed by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), and is an outstanding member of the high density polyethylene (HDPE) family. It is in the form of black granules, and this color comes from the carbon black added during the production process. Carbon black not only plays a role in color adjustment, but more importantly, it gives the material excellent UV resistance, allowing the material to effectively resist UV erosion in outdoor environments, greatly delaying the aging process of the material and significantly extending the service life of the product.

HDPE P6006 resin is classified as MRS 10 – PE100 and has excellent long-term hydrostatic strength, which makes it an excellent choice for pressure pipe applications. Its molecular structure shows a unique bimodal distribution, which allows the material to achieve a good balance of properties, combining the excellent mechanical properties brought by the high molecular weight part with the excellent processing properties given by the low molecular weight part.

Processing Performance

Sabic P6006 HDPE has good processing performance and is suitable for a variety of common processing techniques. In the extrusion process, its moderate melt flow rate and good thermal stability enable the material to be plasticized and extruded smoothly in the extruder to form high-quality pipes, sheets and other products. During injection molding, the material can quickly fill the mold cavity, with a short molding cycle, high production efficiency, and can ensure that the product has good dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Blow molding is also suitable for this material, and hollow containers of various shapes, such as plastic bottles, can be manufactured. During the processing, HDPE P6006 is recommended to control the melt temperature at 190-220℃. At the same time, in order to ensure the smooth progress of the processing and product quality, it is recommended to dry the material before processing.
