Material Properties​ of HDPE P6006AD

  • Appearance and additives. P6006AD HDPE resin has a black granular appearance because carbon black is evenly added during the production process. The addition of carbon black not only plays a role in coloring, but more importantly, it gives the material excellent UV resistance. In outdoor environments, it can effectively resist UV invasion, prevent material aging and degradation, greatly extend the service life of the product, and ensure stable performance in various complex environments. ​
  • Molecular structure. Sabic P6006AD has a unique multimodal molecular weight distribution. This structure optimizes its performance. The high molecular weight part gives the material good mechanical strength, such as high tensile strength and environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR), and can withstand large external forces and harsh environmental influences; the low molecular weight part gives the material good fluidity, which is easy to fill the mold cavity during processing, suitable for a variety of processing techniques, and meets different production needs. ​
  • The density is usually between 0.941 and 0.960 g/cm³. The higher density gives the material good rigidity and strength. This feature enables it to withstand greater pressure and load, and performs well in applications such as pressure pipes that need to withstand a certain amount of pressure. It is not easy to deform or damage, ensuring the normal operation of the system.
  • The melt flow rate MFR (190°C / 5.0kg) is about 0.25g/10min. This parameter reflects the fluidity of the material at a specific temperature and pressure. The moderate melt flow rate allows the material to smoothly fill the mold during extrusion, injection molding and other processing processes to form products with complex shapes, while ensuring that the products have good physical properties, balancing the processing difficulty and product quality.
  • Stability. Through the optimized stabilization system design, Sabic HDPE P6006AD has excellent long-term stability. Regardless of temperature changes, humidity fluctuations, or chemical media erosion, the physical and chemical properties of the material can remain stable without obvious deterioration, providing reliable safety guarantees for applications and reducing potential risks caused by changes in material properties.​
  • Thermal performance. The melting point is about 130°C, and it has good thermal stability. Within a certain temperature range, the material can maintain its shape and performance stability, and can withstand high temperatures while having a certain degree of cold resistance. This wide temperature adaptability allows it to be used normally in environments under a variety of different climatic conditions, expanding its application range. ​

Performance Advantages​

  1. High pressure resistance. Sabic HDPE P6006AD is rated as MRS 11.2 (PE112), with excellent long-term hydrostatic strength and can withstand a nominal pressure of up to 11.2MPa. Compared with ordinary PE100 materials, its pressure resistance is superior and it is suitable for high-pressure pipeline systems with strict pressure requirements, which effectively guarantees the safe operation of pipelines under high pressure environments. ​
  2. Excellent crack resistance. It shows good resistance to slow crack growth (SCG) and rapid crack propagation (RCP).   3. Good processing performance. The moderate melt flow rate and multimodal molecular weight distribution make its processing performance very good. In common processing technologies such as extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding, HDPE P6006AD can be easily processed into products of various shapes and specifications, and the processing process is stable and the production efficiency is high, which meets the needs of large-scale industrial production and provides convenience for manufacturers. ​
  4. Long service life. With stable chemical structure, excellent weather resistance and anti-aging performance, under normal use conditions, the service life of pipes and other products made of this material can be up to 50 years or even longer. This greatly reduces the long-term use cost and maintenance cost, and has significant economic benefits from the perspective of the entire life cycle. ​
